SPD-20 and bass pedal

Hi,

 

I have recently purchased an SPD-20 (very happy with it) but am wanting to hook up a reliable physical bass pedal to enable a more complete and realistic sound to be played live.

 

Is anyone familiar with a good pedal to use?

The way to approach this is by using a trigger that any pedal can attach to .Yamaha TP65 is one possibility, and any conventional pedal will clamp to it. And it doesn't cost a mint.

thanks Robby - I suppose it is easy to get hooked up into the whole "it must be roland' idea. I basically just want soemthing that with work through my percussion pad.

I have an Roland SPD-S and use the Roland KD-7 kick trigger. Works great!

It comes with the beater and all you need to do is connect any bass drum pedal to it, insert the reverse beater that comes with it, connect it to the trigger-in plug on the SPD-20 and play.

I had a set with the KD-7 and hated the damn thing. I had alot of trouble with it not triggering quick enough. Most of the time when I'd do a doubble kick and both hits would not trigger, either the first or second. So this time when I bought my SPD 20 I went with this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KD8/

I've had no problems at all and has a better sensitivity adjustment. I highly recomend this trigger over the crappy KD-7.
