I have a topic-related question:
I have XP on my old PC, but I want to have a new PC built for me soon.
Will I have any licensing issues if I install my XP also on my new PC then?
(So, it would be running on two PC's)
I still do have the CD with XP on it.
I'm pretty sure that you cant have it running on two machine's. I don't even think you can remove it from one PC and move it to another. (You should call Microsoft with this. I may be wrong) My sister bought two of the same laptops for her kids. One got screwed up and I had to re-install Windows. She brought the PC and the install disc over and when I went to enter the serial#, found that I had the wrong disc. I called her and had her read the serial# off of the other PC and the install went fine. After a week Windows wouldn't load saying that it was an invalid copy. I had to re-install using the proper disc. This was with Vista but I have a feeling the same would happen with XP. I would buy yourself a copy of XP while the gettin' is good. It's worth the $$ not to have to use Vista. Mike
