along with lessons, metronomes, and exposure to good music.

for 5 months, it sounds like you're doing just fine.

At the moment, Im looking into lessons. Checking a couple sites last night, and Im checking the phonebook tomorrow. Hell, The music teacher at my high school might be able to find me a place/teacher.

Like others have you should look into getting in with a good teacher. Be selective in who you hook up with too. I've been fortunate in that I've had very good accomplished teachers. The first was Johnny Lee Lane of the IU School of Music. He know works for Remo as Director of Education. The guy I'm studying with now is Paul Berns, Head Percussionist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. I'm miles ahead of where I'd be otherwise without their help!
