Members k7mto
Back in the day, I tore a ligament in my ankle. Had surgery and wore a cast for 8 weeks. I still played I modified the cast (plaster back then) and cut back the foot end so the ball of my foot was exposed and I cut the top part down so it didn't dig into my leg when sitting down. I played 3 shows like that. The Dr. was a bit peeved
Members SYMBOLIC
Take it easy and let your foot heal. In time you may start feeling better and think that it would be ok to play, but you can/will cause damage extending the recovery time. What surgery did you have, if you don't mind me asking? Are you allowed to put weight on it, or are you on crutches? If your on crutches, don't put the tops of them in your arm pits! They go against your ribs 2-3 inches below your arm pits. Don't want to damage the nerves that run through your armpits and go to your arms and hands. Take it slow, work on other things. If your play double bass, work on the other foot, work on your hands during the down time. Good luck, it will be over before you know it.

Members D Carroll
What did you say when you played that day? "Ow, my toe hurts!"?? Of course you could play lol My point exactly. It was a tad bit more intense than foot surgery, but I felt even worse because I couldn't play.

And he lengthened my achilles tendon. And put a titianium plug on the other side of my ancle. Sorry if my post makes no sense. I'm still under the heavy drugs they gave me. I'm also on crutches. And no weight.
