GC got theirs from the Chinese manufacturers, which is why they are so cheap.
Still not bad mics, however, and everything has a potential use.
I have a pair of MK219s that sound terrible, but every once in a while, I find a use for them.
Have you used a 319 Weathered? I'm curious to hear (or talk to someone who has heard) the difference between the poor performance of the square housing on the 219 versus the round housing on the 319. I've found it to be pretty neutral and is a good 'all around' condenser; then again I don't have a lot to work with. I was just wondering if the housing was all that was wrong with MK219.
