Yes, the signal is weak and noisy. I recorded that at 6 AM quietly so not to disturb neighbors, and so I would not forget it.

I can record better takes later, try different instruments and interpretations if anyone wants to develop a holiday song with me.

Darn it. I like this a lot, but can't play the guitar! I could never match what you played exactly, so using my nifty JamStudio website thing, I've done a different guitar sounding bit for the next part, if that's ok? (If you want, you could keep playing the guitar and I could do my bit over it...without my wrong fake guitar playing! LOL)

I'm a guitarist, it's the 1st instrument I learned to play? I play guitar, bass, piano, dobro, drums, mandolin, violin? Many instruments. But the OP, They've refused to comment on anything I've ever posted? So I responded in kind? As listed below. It's unfortunate, because I could probably help? I do guitar "first" and build everything on top of that. It's best not to ignore people IMO? It can piss them off?

This message is hidden because YeahDoIt is on your ignore list.

I'm trying to make my electric guitar sound like gently falling snowflakes.

My singing is horrible on this recording. I'm working on phrasing and sound for this song. I need time to learn to sing this song, but awkward demos are fast and, I think, useful for arranging music.

I changed this song a little. Added two more lines. Sounds like I have a top 40 radio dance beat going at the end.

When the snow falls and it covers the city

and the people come out to live on the streets once again

I'll be throwing a snowball up against your window

Asking you to come out and build a snowman

Anyone want to write more lyrics, chorus or bridge? Is this style OK? Should I continue with the top 40 dance beat?

Grace: I just downloaded your December_collab_grace.mp3 and I'll be listening to it in a few minutes.

Rockinrobby, and probably some other readers also:- I'm using a modem, not a high speed internet connection. It's difficult for me to listen to big mp3's, some streaming sites do not work for me and YouTube videos can take a half hour to download. It's not that I'm looking to ignore anyone, I just don't have a fast internet connection right now.

Ido - I'm using a condenser computer microphone of unknown brand plugged into a laptop computer running Vista. I see the microphone picking up hum possibly from my computer and definitely from the guitar amplifier. Recording software is Audacity. My bass guitar is noisy, maybe needs shielding. Sometimes the refrigerator starts, noise bleeds into the microphone. Ground wires around here might not be connected to anything.

My goal in recording is not to build a studio, but to work out arrangements and performance in preparation for recording at a better studio.

I am interested in reading your ideas about recording, Thanks for your help.

Grace, I recorded an acoustic guitar part similar to yours, changed the lyrics a little and added another verse. Does this acoustic guitar work for your Mr. Whiskers verse?

If not then I can work on more closely duplicating the guitar sound that you were using in your JamStudio version.

100 bpm, 4/4, keys F and C

....C.................................Dm

the cold breaks and the sun warms the city

....F......................................C

the smell of fresh brewed coffee fills the air

........C..................................Dm

you can hear the wet snow dripping off the branches

....F..............................C

and people come out on the streets again

..F..........................C

A small mouse they called Mr Whiskers

..........Am.................G

stuck his head out a garbage can

............F........................C

Twirled his moustache and said to no one

.........Am.....................G

that his favourite day had just began

....C......................................Dm

the snow shovel looked on over at the dust broom

..........F.........................C

said it's cold out there and I'm so tired

....C..................................Dm

the broom said won't you come into the kitchen

....F..............................C

and warm your self here beside the fire

Sheesh how am I to get the chords to line up with the lyrics?
