I've not played out yet, just for family and a couple friends. I've been writing/singing for about 2 years. I guess I'm trying to gauge if I'll make a fool of myself singing if I do perform! All opinions desired. Thanks guys

Moderators davie Posted July 9, 2010 Moderators Share Posted July 9, 2010 Hey, it works, i just had a listen. Your voice is alright. There's nothing wrong or horrible about your voice. In fact, your tone and style is somewhat interesting. Also somewhat nasal sounding, and seems somewhat tense. How do you feel about your voice? Members grace_slick
WOW! LOVE the song!! Firstly, you are GOOD I think. You're more than adequate in your plain old vocal skills. No major lackings there at all in terms of modern pop/rock music. The main thing is you've got major personality going on in your voice. It's quite unique and definitely interesting. And any slight vocal weaknesses come across only as more personality and individualism... Sort of reminds me of what's his name...David Gray or something? His songs are very poignant and piano-based and his voice is unique...also you sound a BIT of Placebo, but your voice is a lot nicer than the Placebo guy. His voice is a bit blegh to me. Again, ADORE the song...with some tweaking, I can hear this on the radio, seriously.
Members Azami
I don't think it came out bad at all, actually I found it to be an interesting style. The worst voice critic is always the self
Members Masklin
You've got talent that's for sure. You seem to lack power though, and when you rise in pitch you obtain a slight nasal tone, someone mentioned this already I think. A lesson or two at a voice coach and you'll get it right, I suspect. Members grace_slick
I actually didn't notice a nasal tone personally. I thought it was just more of the unique style of singing he uses which I don't equate with nasal-ness. I LOVED IT.

Members cavemanic
sounds great to me for the style!! I'm not sure if there is some other artifact going on or its the nasal thing people mention but there is some sort of background sound when you are singing!??!? Members rhat
I think you need to re mix it and put the vocals on top... the piano is way too high in the mix for your vocal volume.
Members grace_slick
I thought it was alright the way it was, but then again, I'm really inexperienced with mixing.

Vocals and piano were recorded in one shot, not separately so I can't adjust the levels
