Members Rob Martinez
I need some feedback from you experts! I am looking at a Dean Vendetta for about $499 or a Traben Chaos 4 string bass for about the same price. I have a Rickenbacker 4000, a Waterstone 12 string bass, and a couple of semi-hollow body basses, but need something that has a deep low end and sustain for miles!! I am not sure which of these basses will serve my purposes the best. First for recording, second for gigging. Any feedback appreciated.
Members L-1329
Not sure if it's what you would consider, but if you want deep, DEEP lows you should check out some Schecter basses. There are a few around here with them, myself included, and they are just naturally very strong in the lows. I haven't ever really tried to record mine well though, so can't comment on that, but live there aren't many that have this kind of thundering low end. Members Tbirdbassist
Ibanez SRX 700-Very powerful humbuckers Those schecters are worth a try, although they have too much of a metallic sound to them, i cant point out where its coming from though... Members sunburstbasser
Some Corts-the Curbows and Artisans for instance-have a very strong low end, and can be had cheap on ebay.
Members Incubitabus
Between the two, Dean. Overall, Schecter.
Members hawkhuff
Fender P Bass for lows that won't quit. Hundreds if not thousands of studio musicians can't be wrong.
Members burdizzos
Of the two options, go with the Dean, the Trabens are crap. For deep lows and ease of recording, Hawkhuff is right.
