Members spinedriver
I have a 2000 BC Rich NJ series Neck-thru Warlock bass w/custom case. The bass I'm looking at is a Yamaha RBX374. Both are in pretty much the same condition (mine has a few chips in the paint here & there, as well as the RBX. The Warlock has a nicer neck on it, but the Yammy sounds a lot nicer. I'm just curious if anyone here has knowledge on the quality of the RBX series... Mine was $500 US when I first got it, and the RBX is $350 CDN. It seems like a trade-down, but I don't know what (if any) problems people have had with them..
Members FreestyleIntruder
FWIW I like Yammie RBX. I don't like BC Rich. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Yamaha make some REALLY nice instruments, their low-end basses are IMO the best around, and I don't think I've ever played a bad one
Members spinedriver
I should also mention that I've had the BC Rich for like 5 years now, and since then aquired a Spector Rex. Recently I've joined a band and since the RGX sounds a lot like the Spector, it'd make a great backup. Thing is, I'd be losing the option of a diff't sound trading the Warlock. I'm with you though, it did seem like a really nice bass..
