Members Circuitboardsou
I'm buying a bass and was wondering what the difference between squier and squier affinity is. Here they are respectively: http://www.thomann.de/thoiw3_fender_squire_p_bass_prodinfo.html?sn=2487681dc4466c81a6e76e520c338154 http://www.thomann.de/thoiw3_fender_squier_affinity_pbass_rw_bk_prodinfo.html?sn=2487681dc4466c81a6e76e520c338154 Thanks. The Affinity is the absolute rock bottom of Fender's line. The Squier might have better tuners, and a better bridge, but more than likely, there's not much different. Save your pennies and get a Mexi Fender!

Members Circuitboardsou
Okay, I'm not a serious bass player, I'm just getting one for my home recordings, adding some funk to them, so my price range won't reach to that of a mexi or anything else over
Members Gruven
An SX (Essex) can be had for $119 US + shipping. They're made better than the Squires. The forumites who own them say that they're as good or better than the Mexi Fenders.

Members Circuitboardsou
I'm from Finland and I don't think I'll get a chance to try it before buying, I can always send it back though. I'm not very picky anyway about little details and nuances, I just want a decent sounding bass for recording. I'm ordering from Thomann cos it's cheapest and I'm getting some other stuff from there as well so I thought I'd get that bass too while I'm at it. Members misterhinkydink
I believe the Affinitys have slightly slimmer bodies.
