Steam Whistle pilsner

So last night i went to the liquor store to buy booze for some of my underage friends and i decided that even though i had a bunch of hard whisky, vodka and blue curacao in my dorm room already, i'd get some beer. i actually hadn't had a beer since early december and it was an Iron City....kind of not that impressive.

I ended up leaving with a six-pack of Steam Whistle, homegrown Canadian pilsner brewed in downtown toronto in what used to be a CP Rail roundhouse.

I cracked them open last night with my friends and damn, this stuff is awesome! i rank it up there with Moosehead and Rickard's Red. has a nice full flavour but none of that typical cringe-inducing "indifferent commercial lager" taste. also, the hop flavour isn't all over the damn place. everyone agreed that it was pretty damn awesome.

incidentally all of my favourite beers are Canadian, with the possible exception of the occasional Boddington's, Grolsch or Tuborg.

I heartily concur...

Not the Belgian travesty that is Labatt's or the watered down crap coming out of Molson's.

Steamwhistle, Creemore, Sleeman's are all good.

The british brew a good beer though, Newcastle Brown and Boddington's are my fave's.

Incidentally, there's an all TO thread over at:
