Members snakum
I'll be needing a bass neck with a maple board when I start sprucing up my inexpensive import's (still on order) electronics, bridges and necks, and I'm wondering if anyone knows the size of the neck pocket on the Indonesian-made Peavey Millenniums? Any suggestions for a maple neck? I found Warmoth maple bass necks for $165, but I'm not sure of the sizes on the bodies, or even if the neck pockets are standardized on the import basses. Anyone know? What else do I need to look out for when replacing a neck on a bass? I've replaced Strat necks, and even built two FrankenStrats, but I've not worked on basses and so I am unsure of 'gotchas'.

Members L-1329
Can't help you on the body, but as for warmoth necks their website lists the dimensions of the neck heel. Also I believe that they are all built to Fender neck pocket specs, but I could be wrong.

Members L-1329
Could be. They're the only manufacturer whose instruments need frequent neck replacements.

Members sunburstbasser
The flat heel part of my Millenium is (about) 4.5" long, 2.5" across.
Members snakum
Thanks VERY much ... that helps, too. I'm calling Warmoth and Peavey tonight to ask a bunch of questions, and knowing the general size will help (Peavey doesn't know the import specs).
