Members Caroway
I recently sold my Ampeg 8x10 & SVT-350H and my drum equipment and decided not to pursue 'the band thing'. I went to GC today to trade in my drum hardware and to look at bass combos. I was looking for a Gallien-Krueger 210, but they didn't have one. They did, however, have an Ampeg BA-500 on clearance for $799. They gave me $380 for my drum hardware and I was out the door with the ampeg for $480 after taxes. I can't wait to get it home and tweak with it. Just thought I'd share.
Members Detox
Congrats. Post a review after you are done getting it dialed in. I'm looking at Ampegs too.
Members bnyswonger
I'm not familiar with that model - but if you can't get a decent sound out of an Ampeg I'll have some curried goat.

The amp should sound very nice indeed. Nice score. And what's wrong with curried goat!!!???
Members Vix Bass Paul
Good deal on the Ampeg. They usually cost over a grand.
Members Caroway
I really dig it. I think that tomorrow, I am gonna trade my Fender Hot-Rodded P Bass for a G&L ASAT in Butterscotch Blonde w/ maple fretboard. I demoed the BA500 with it today at GC and I fell in love. Guess i will be rejoining the G&L army.
Members willsellout
That's a good amp and surprisingly loud. Dan
Members el_duderino676
Most of the BA combos are good amps. I like my BA115, but I can't wait to get an all tube SVT to sit on top of the 810.

Ampegs are nice, but their SS amps always take a lot of tweaking to get usable sounds out of...at least for me. But there are a lot of very nice sounds to be found. They're just not a 'plug-n-play' type of amp. Congrats!
