Members vooter
pardon my ignorance.. Say I have a small, practice bass amp (orange 35b, solid state, 35 watts). Could I use the speaker out to drive a bigger cab and have the bass be louder (to be heard over the drummer and guitarist?)
Members sunburstbasser
You COULD drive a seperate cab using the speaker out, but 35 watts is never gonna amount to much volume and if you push it hard you run the risk of clipping the amp. If you can find a used Peavey TNT, that'll get you over a drummer without costing a fortune.
Members s4001
I like my 'inexpensive' Yorkville combo as well. A little 35 watt amp is going to need to be upgraded if you're going to play with a drummer.
Members Apendecto
35 watts is weak. There are a lot of decent amps that you can get for cheap, especially used. I bought a really cheap Fender 200 watter with a 15 in it and it worked wonders for a long time. The BXR 200 sounded a little sterile but it did the trick. Try to get about 200 watts and at least 2 10s worth of speaker volume if you aren't PA'ed. Yo.
