Members megadan
Who here plays in an instrumental band, of any kind? My main band right now is instrumental... not having to deal with a singer is great
Members mrmatt64
My original band, M.V.P. is all instrumental. One day, one of us might sing a song or 2, but it IS nice not having a singer in this project. I've played with a few great singers, but played with more who were absolute jerks! Members niomosy
My band is me. I can't sing for crap. Needless to say, we decided it was best to be an instrumental band
Members Flatball
I've never been in a strictly instrumental band. ...but I've been in a couple that should have been.

Members Bus_Mute
the band I'm a part of uses minimalist vocals. we have a sound similar to a lot of the more modern ambient/indie/post-rock bands. think Bernard, Explosions in the Sky, and Sigur Ros. Members el_duderino676
One of the bands that I is/was in was mostly instrumental, mainly because none of us really wanted to sing, and none of us could really write any lyrics for the original music that we did have. That's how it was with the guitar player I was jamming with before my move. We had played together in a sort of ambient/electronic band, and after that broke up we ended up jamming together every now and then and we just never felt that vocals were needed for the music we were writing. That, and I've got one of the worst voices for singing I've ever heard. It's just straight out bad.
Members nicebigstrings
I play in two of them. My original outfit is an electric/acoustic trio and my cover outfit is a quartet with Hammond B3 doing covers of old school soul and funk.

See, I'm fully confident that my singing is crap Though it's improving, having to sing damned Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to my 8 mo. daughter before bed time

I'm pretty proud of it, it was a lot of work.. not a very original song structure, and utterly meaningless lyrics, but i think with some practice i could maybe compete with the big boys heres the link
Members ryanstanley
oh the thread! yeah ive played in instrumental bands before, and about half of what i listen to is instrumental. ive never gotten together a complete gigging band thats instrumental though, never seem to be able to find a drummer that wants to do anything like that
