The ground-wound finish is fairly smooth and non-abrasive. Have the same strings on my Iby SR-400 fretted. Less finger noise, and I don't like too much briteness anyways. Members lownote Posted January 7, 2007 Members Share Posted January 7, 2007 depends on the tone you want. l like Ken Smith's ML Slick Rounds (otherwise known as 1/2 rounds or ground-rounds). very similar tone to rounds, much easier on the fingerboard.
