Members amishland
Is there a difference between a guitar (six string) wireless and a bass wireless? I know a guitar player who wants to get rid of his wireless, so I'm wondering how it will work for bass. I'm not sure what model wireless he has, but I know he paid about $400 for it new. Members Rippin' Robin
I use a guitar wireless (Samson airline series one UHF) without problems.
Members Anesthesia
as long as the frequency handling of the unit gets down to around 40hz (30 if you play 5) it will be fine. Manufacturers website should have that info
Members lug
You have to be careful and check the specs as Anesthesia said. I've seen older units that didn't go below 100 hz. The standard to compare to in freq range is the new Xwire2. Goes down to something like 20 hz and digitizes your signal. No interferance at all, but a bit pricey. Members RSBro
Check the TB X-Wire2 megathread. Good things all around, and the same price range as the Shure PGX line, but better.
Members Fran da Man
but a bit pricey. Pricey? it's cheaper than the Sennheiser everybody raves about. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Sennheiser-EW-172-G2-Instrument-Wireless-System?sku=276677 http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-X2D-XDS95.html

Most of the cheap analog ones I've seen are seriously limited in the low end frequency extention. If I got one today, it would be the XwireII. Members Cole'sbass
I use a cheap Audio-Technica ATW -201 Freeway that uses VHF and it works perfect. You can probably pick one up for just over $100. No it isn't in UHF or made by Shure but they are also very expensive and unless you are playing a stadium show the 201 Freeway is great
