Are the Sx basses good. and reliable

All the ones I have seen have been ok. Not the greatest instruments out there, but completely functional, and totally upgradeable.

just put a gotoh 201 bridge on my sx p/j. sustain is much better than stock bridge. to be honest i like my sx better than my hamer bass that cost more than 4 times the sx when new, i happen to trade a hot rodded telecaster for it as an even trade (the hamer bass).

the sx is on par with my other bass, quality wise, in a lot of areas. pots and jack are next to get replaced and then i think i will have a pretty solid instrument in the sx. i like it anyway.

Its hard to say whether they are better than Rogue. My guess is that they come out of the same factory (somewhere in China, IIRC).

They are solid, working basses, but in general they aren't some great secret. I certainly wouldn't recommend trading in a bass you absolutely love for an SX.

SX are good for a few things:

-Buying and modding to get what you want

-Inexpensive backup

-Cheap way to get a P, J, fretless, whatever.

-Beater bass

Rogues are made in Korea at least the ones I own are.
