Members Funkee1 Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 Are the Sx basses good. and reliable All the ones I have seen have been ok. Not the greatest instruments out there, but completely functional, and totally upgradeable.
Members baracuda2004 Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 better than rogue? better for upgrading.. not stock IMHO.
Members bassman1956 Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 Do a search for SX, and you'll come up with tons of info.
Members dDigitalPimp Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 just put a gotoh 201 bridge on my sx p/j. sustain is much better than stock bridge. to be honest i like my sx better than my hamer bass that cost more than 4 times the sx when new, i happen to trade a hot rodded telecaster for it as an even trade (the hamer bass). the sx is on par with my other bass, quality wise, in a lot of areas. pots and jack are next to get replaced and then i think i will have a pretty solid instrument in the sx. i like it anyway.
Members bassred Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 Just us ethe sarch fnction, there is much love for SX basses on these forums.. I'm one proud owner, and there are a ton of flks on here too!
Members RIC N BACKER Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 I have a SXP-57 and it is as good as a Fender MIM in fact I just brought back a Fender Geddy Lee and ordered this http://www.rondomusic.net/sjb75.htmland should have it one day next week.I am not saying it is better that the GL but it will do and I will have 600 bucks left in my pocket! My SPB is stock except for the pots
Members sunburstbasser Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 Its hard to say whether they are better than Rogue. My guess is that they come out of the same factory (somewhere in China, IIRC). They are solid, working basses, but in general they aren't some great secret. I certainly wouldn't recommend trading in a bass you absolutely love for an SX. SX are good for a few things: -Buying and modding to get what you want-Inexpensive backup-Cheap way to get a P, J, fretless, whatever.-Beater bass

Members Robin Posted August 25, 2007 Members Posted August 25, 2007 would a badass bridge 2 work on one On an SX, yeah. Don't know about a Rogue tho.
