Members rpsands
Yeah I have had that four or give times now hehehe.Hmmm, that muscle development may be my problem. I lifted and wrestled a LOT prior to playing bass so I have very developed forearm muscles. I will try to find some exercises though to even out the strength.Yeah I should do more warming up.As for the classical or standard position, I do not know the significant differences other than classical one places the instrument nearly vertical. When you are sitting to play, is the strap supporting the bass or is your knee/arms supporting the bass? It's important when you're sitting that you still don't have to lift the bass or support the neck or anything. The strap should be doing the work. Also, things I do that help:1) Hand/wrist strength exercises like squishing squeezy ball thing or those V-shaped exercisers2) Pullups/chinups3) Wear wrist brace to bed (too lazy anymore but it does help a lot)4) Stretch before you play and always warm up slowly

Oh yeah, the pain got bad again when I started to practice shredding...
Members Poltergeist
hey, listen to what he said, try lighter strings... i recommend the Rotosounds 40-95... they are really easy on the fingers! also, about that shoulder thingy, go get checked by a doctor, that would be the wisest thing to do...
