Members bendafender
I don't get it. What's with the x***y naming convention for ebay accounts? Is it that all the good names are taken? It looks sleazy to me. Someone fill me in please.
Members Phantasm
I'm going to speculate that it's a mechanism to discourage scamming.
Members dDigitalPimp
once bidding hits $200 (i think thats what it is) they blank out the names.
Members The Real MC
New ebay policy. Click on bid history to read it.. Only you and the seller can see the actual names. This was done to cut down on "the winning bidder backed out you are the next highest bidder" scams. Good move but the minor bummer is you have no way of knowing if you are bidding against your friend(s) or against a shill bidder.

Yeah, I think it's really just a privacy issue. I was annoyed when I first saw it too, because I thought it was just shill-bidding.
