I'm almost done with it. He goes in pretty good detail of when a lot of the songs were written, what they were thinking at the time, and it filled in a lot of the blanks of how Guns and Roses was what it was at the time.

I was surprised that Izzy wrote a lot of the songs that I liked, I had no idea what his level of contribution was.

He does mix the stories of craziness in there, but it's in a very cool way. He doesn't overdo it, and he does focus a lot more on the actual musical aspect of it than I expected that he would.

He also goes in-depth trying to explain his relationship with Axl.

In interviews, Slash has always struck me as intelligent, open, and even a little humble. I bet the book is a very good look into what that band was like.

Izzy was the Gunners' secret weapon. Along the lines of JPJ in Led Zeppelin. Unheralded, but impossible without him.
