Members t3ch
Those didn't come in 5's before? I could've sworn they did... Shows you what I know. /shrug
Members Undead Sycip
They kinda did but they were called SR5s. These seem to be much smaller than those beasts (and if you ever picked up an SR5 you'll know what I mean)
Members GRANKOR
looks cool. I would like one

I'm really confused.

Members t3ch
Oh. Well... hmm. I don't like Ernie Ball basses though, so I guess all of my confusedness is pointless anyway.
Members bassred
The Sterling was the first bass I ever had GAS for, never got one... I saw it in a little 8th of a page ad in the back pages of my first Bass Player Magazine, true story! Glad to see they've finally given it the low B!!! Members willsellout
It's nice but I don't like the headstock being painted like that. Dan
Members Undead Sycip
It's a proto. In fact, the HS says SR5 20th Anniversary on it.
Members guitargod0dmw
I like it....but I'm also not a fan of the painted headstock.
Members REMUS
I think it would be a good performance bass, looks quite light.

Members cdb
hmmmm...same ceramic pups as an SR5, same string spacing as an SR5, just a smaller body, different neck carve-- meh, I'll keep my SR5 after all

Members jasper383
Yeah, we have the SR5, which was alnico for a couple years, then was actually the Sterling 5, only called the Stingray 5. Now, we have an actual Sterling 5, so the SR5 can now be actually the SR5. Leaving the Stingray 5 fans, those after 1992 and the alnico/ceramic switch, and those who were playing the actual Sterling 5, to now need a Sterling 5 to actually have the Stingray 5 they have come to know and love. PS I have GAS for it, too. All of them are great.
Members Goofball Jones
I'm sure you'll be able to get any config you want...including an HH version and a non-painted headstock. I'm not a fan of the painted headstocks either. I'm not a 5 stringer either, but this does look good. Never really liked the look of the SR5 and that weird pick-guard. Just didn't look right to me. I LOVE the 20th anniversary SR5 though with NO pickguard.
Members brake
I'm not sure what the ceramic/alnico thing is. My bass was made in '06 (it's an SR5). What does it have? It's the kind I like..

Members Undead Sycip
The SR5 came out before the Sterling did (SR5 had it's 20th Anniv this year. Sterling is pushing 15). What we had all along was a 4 string SR5 and not a 5 string Sterling.
