Members James Hart
I love Robert's first 3 solo discs. Still in my regular rotation today. I think a lot of it is the fact I was in High School 82 to 86. Most of the 'current' stuff of that time are my favorites. Jethro Tull's Broadsword and the Beast... Genesis' Abacab... Jimmy Page's and Paul Rogers' The Firm... etc etc etc. Heck, even Joe Walsh's Confessor

Members jasper383
There is something haunting, and even touching, about those first couple Plant LPs. Can't quite put my finger on what it is. Maybe he still misses Bonham. After the bombast and overdone nature of later Led Zeppelin, I find them refreshing.

Members T. Alan Smith
There is something haunting, and even touching, about those first couple Plant LPs. +1. Good stuff. James and I seem to be from the same school of rock. I think ABACAB is a flawless pop record.
Members bholder
That's not my favorite tune from those Plant albums, but it's a good one. Probably cliche, but I really like "Ship Of Fools".

Indeed... he'd be in my top 5 fav guitarists if there was just more of him out there.
Members fealach
I pretty much agree with James here - we're bout the same age, I do like The Confessor (never been much for Genesis though). I liked those first 2 Plant albums, largely for the mood and especially Robbie Blunt's playing. There's no video for it, but this is one of my all time favorite songs:

Members motoreyes
+1. Good stuff. James and I seem to be from the same school of rock. I think ABACAB is a flawless pop record. Oh yes...me too...love ABACAB! I have it on good clean vinyl & throw it on the 'table quite often. Funny story...a friend was once opening his mind to musical styles other than death metal...classic rock & the like. I gave him a bunch of progressive stuff & ABACAB was one of them. He hated it because of the "casiotone" keyboard sound! I couldn't stop laughing, but I guess if I was listening to it for the first time 25 or so years later I might have a different opinion. I love that it's so dark & musical. Anyway...that's all (oh, wrong album).

Members wades_keys
Good stuff james - class of '86 myself, here. Robbie Blunt did most of the guitar work on Edie Brickell's debut album, if I'm not mistaken.
