Members LanEvo
I'm digging it. But I would have gone with a gold pickguard for that V59 look...Or maybe even white, like a 4001.
Moderators Kindness Posted June 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 16, 2008 Another step closer. Pickups mounted. Pots mounted. The wiring needs to go in and the neck pocket fit needs to be fine tuned on the pickguard.
Members BeeTL
That looks REALLY nice!By the way. are Ric bridge and neck pickups wound differently? If not, I think a project like this would look even nicer with two neck pickups...

Moderators Kindness Posted June 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2008 Here's a quick picture, but I have a lot of tweaking to do: Quick review, having spent a few minutes playing, I'm confident this project will be deemed a success upon completion. Moderators Kindness Posted June 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2008 Well you're a jerky face. The bass needed a huge pickguard to cover the routes. Can you think of a better way?
Members Death Hands
Maybe more of a tear-drop sort of shape, widest at the bridge. I dunno. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO REAR ROUTING?!?! Now, the real question... Is it Ricky?

Moderators Kindness Posted June 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2008 The knobs aren't my jurisdiction. Matt has given me all of the parts I'm using and has told me he's taking care of the knobs himself. It'll leave my hanfs knobless.
Members mlwarriner
actually, i'll probably go with chrome screws and knobs, to match the bridge and tuners...

Moderators Kindness Posted June 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2008 That thing is rad. I'm digging the pickguard. When can I come by and steal it. Thanks. The pickguard is 1/2 the original Peavey shape and one half Ric inspired design. The bass will have to live with me for a little while as I tweak it. I have some work to do with the electronics (I was experimenting with some of Ric's various wiring ideas) and then I'll go over the setup with a fine tooth comb. Come by in the next week or two and give it a run!
