That would be considered a good deal. It is also somewhat of an industry standard. If you are not going to become a tone nazi then it will serve you well. Amps are a different matter. "decent rig" is very subjective. You need to answer a few questions like: Where do you play and who do you play with? Live heavy metal shows with Marshall stacks and loud drummers need huge rigs to be considered "decent rigs".
