Members wades_keys
I got one of these.I've purchased other stuff from that seller and have had nothing but good experiences. The shipping on the XTI was stupid fast. I've read a lot of anecdotal stories about XTI's failing in the field, due to SMD's wriggling loose. Think I'll stick with the RMX series for now. I don't know, ours seems to be working flawlessly. I don't know if the XTI series have a higher failure rate than any other line of amps.
Members Phantasm
I don't know, ours seems to be working flawlessly. I don't know if the XTI series have a higher failure rate than any other line of amps. I called a friend where his install uses quite a few XTi's, and he said the only problem they had was one had a DSP issue where they had to ship it back to Crown. He said other than that they were solid. The GX5 has great reviews from pros online too... I looked over at prosoundweb and the response is very favorable to the amp. There are fewer filters and there's no 2 ohm operation or bridging, but I shouldn't need any of that for my application. And, if all else fails, I'll use it as a monitor amp and buy an RMX after I make some more money.
