There's a string shop here in Durham that sort of specializes in Ukuleles. They have lots of different tunings and brands, offer group lessons and host jams. It looks like a lot of fun.

i need to start searching for the answer to getting replacement strings here.

how long are nylon strings supposed to last?

straight nylon strings don't last long on a uke.

I've used Aquila nylgut so far and have been very happy with them, e.g.

however, I've heard good things about these so I'm gonna try 'em for my next set
