Members Kyle_Serlington
a couple years ago i put a Split P into my SX P-Bass copy, and it's a good pickup, but not really what i was looking for, i love the standard mid-range P-Bass growl seeing as how i grew up on Green Day (nimrod), Blink 182, and the Ramones. i'm probably gunna sell my split P and get a different pickup, i've never heard the model P but i'm sure some of you have, so do you think that'll be more the sound i'm looking for? Members sub5ound
What is a split p? I know that all P-style pickups are mostly split coil, but is this a brand? The DiMarzio will give you more oomph than your standardsplit coil...worth a try for the price.
Members bassman1956
Split-P is a particular model of Dimarzio P pickup, with each half being a mini-humbucker, IE, 2 blades humbucking per each half of the P pup. They are very bassy, yet still P.

Well, not "P" really then. Of course, I am of the thinking that a true "P" pickup is actually a single coil, done twice. Are these blade pups? From what I understand about MIM Fender pups, these DiMarzio's are similar. Is it true the MIM standard pups actually come in at something like 4.75 k? Members fretless
The split ( DP127) is a hot blade type , a little dark , noise free strong from from bottom to top . I'm a fan . Stock in early Schecter S series .
Members bassman1956
Check their site. There's even a sound sample on the Split-P page.
