Members poomwah
Why I want to do this is not important, but if I wanted to wire a bass without controls, and using two p type pickups, would I wire them in series or parallel?
Members left left goose
I've seen 1 P pickup done that way, I'll go look for the thread, as far as two, I'm really not sure.

Members bassman1956
Wait...A P is 2 halves for 1 pickup...Do you mean 1 pickup, 2 pieces total? Or 2 complete pickups, 4 pieces total?
Members poomwah
Four pieces total
Members bassman1956
Then yes, either way. Try them both. Similar to doing jazz's in either series or parallel.

Members Renfield
+1 If there are no knobs in the path, then it really is a matter of tonal preference, there is no right or wrong on something like this.

Members Bluescout
There HAS to be a knob hole in the bass already. Put in a series/parallel switch.
Members mrcrow
what is the distance between themif they are close series parallel would seem to be ok if they are far apart as in a jazz...parallel

Members poomwah
It is for the axe, there are no holes for pots, no control cavityJust neck pocket and pickup holes
Members tommorichards
I would at least recommend a kill switch also, just to have the option of "off".Otherwise go for it, but ive never been a fan of the dual P pups.

Dual P wouldn't have been my first choice either, but that's what was in it.As far as a kill switch, even that would take away from the smooth look, besides, I've got a volume pedal.
