Isn't there an inline skate that straps onto the bottom of a normal shoe? A rigid frame that your shoe sits on and is strapped too? I know there used to be one anyway, a hockey playing buddy used them with some old skates that he took the blades off of, he didn't like the inline skate offerings at the time so made his own.
