Members Dark Slide
So, I was messing around last night, having not played my bass in quite some time and I blew the fuse in my vt-22 head. I replaced the fuse, but it wont even power on now. WTF did I do? What needs replacing? I can play, but I'm {censored}ing useless when it comes to fixing stuff. Members Flogger59
Amp tech, mess around inside and you might touch the wrong thing and kill yourself. There is a reason why old techs always keep one hand in their pocket when working on a tube amp.
Members Dark Slide
Oh, I don't plan on fixing it myself. Just wondering what it was I likely blew, so I have an idea of what needs to be fixed. I don't even KNOW anyone who works on amps. One of the joys of living in the sticks. Members misterhinkydink
There's also an internal fuse. 1) There are some protection diodes on both sides of the output transformer that could have shorted to ground. 2) Your amp could need need the power supply capacitors replaced. Don't mess with it anymore. Take it to the shop for repairs. Both of these are really simple and any repair person should be able to easily fix it.
