Members ned911
Got our first gig where we were required to submit a rider. Anyone have an example of one? Don't need silly things like no brown M&M's although I would like to have the bread and luncheon meat the same size.
Members tim_7string
If you go to The Smoking Gun, they have an area called Backstage Pass that illustrates how silly some of these riders can be. It's also a good resource to see just how they are set up. Here's the link.

Members BlueStrat
Riders are great for making sure that there is adequate power, (we ask for two 20 amp circuits, and one to be a dedicated stage line), adequate time to load in and set up, and depending on the gig, that you get things like water, food, etc. Of course, the more items you have on a rider, the less likely they are going to want to work with you again, so keep it realistic. You aren't John Mayer so don't go asking for specific organic fruits and veggies, cases of obscure brand name mineral waters and microbrews, three kinds of lip balm and a dozen clean white Egyptian linen towels. Members TimmyP
Likely what they really want is a stage plot and input list, so they know what needs to be mic'd & DI'd, where AC needs to be, where everyone is, etc.
Members BlueStrat
A stage plot could be it, but many of the shows I do they want both.
