You're definitely on target there. But the upside is that when I was 20, I would never have looked at an older woman. I would have thought that was wierd, like banging you mother. Now, that I'm older, aside from (it's true) having lower standards, the available pool has increased dramatically!! After all, there are only X number of 18 to 22 year olds, but a lot more 18 to you-fill-in-the-blank year olds!!

Things that are better?

- Cheap handheld recorders (like the Zoom ones) to record the truth at a gig
- Bass rigs that you can actually fit in a car and move without killing yourself
- Craigslist (OK, already mentioned, but I've got both gear and bandmates that way)
- Slow down/pitch change software song learning tools
- Google calendar to keep the schedule in order
- Band web site to connect with people that want to see you
- IPhones to get lyrics for a song that you're jamming during a rehearsal
- LED lighting
- Equipped rehearsal spaces that you can rent for 3 hours

Things that sound like they would make things better, but (IMO) don't:

- Modeling pedals and amps (they never sit in the mix...)
- On line tabs (OK, they have a place... but after sitting through auditioning 3 guitarists, all who replicated THE SAME MISTAKE in the tabs, I'm not so sure)
