Members pogo97
Around here (small town near a small city, small set of musicians and venues) there's a fad-let every year for some ancient genre or other. Two years ago it was rockabilly; this year it's New Orleans and local musicians will present shows and/or label themselves accordingly. I'm less clear that they actually have any roots in those genres or have done much in the way of homework; not sure it's just marketing but it's certainly marketing. A Johnny Cash or Gershwin show is a more-perennial form of this kind of labeling. At a certain point in your musician's life, you'll likely have a handful of idioms that you could do a full night of and why not? Or, perhaps, why?
