Members Dr_spooju Posted May 14, 2004 Members Share Posted May 14, 2004 lately i've been noticing a wierd thing with my peavy 50/50 power amp. everthing goes alright until i turn it off. I usually just turn the the switch to off, but lately its been making a pop, even with the levels on zero. I've also tried puting the amp into standby after i turn it on and it makes loud noises like touching the end of a plugged guitar cable. anyone know whats up? thanks. Members SGB Posted May 14, 2004 Members Share Posted May 14, 2004 It sounds like a power tube problem to me. Does it do it with both channels? How old are the power tubes? I always turn mine off by putting both channels in standby first. Then I power off the 50/50, then I shut down the rest of my gear by turning off my power conditioner. When powering up I turn on the power conditioner first, then the 50/50 power, then I take each channel off of standby. Hope this helps. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
