There are different "versions" of the PCM 70 series processors. They have different algorithms all together re: the pcm70 vs pcm80 . The PCM-80 has a data card reader allowing for obvious benefit, data cards for vocals and pitch fx as well. BOTH sound GREAT!!! I have the PCM-80 and love it! The main fascination w/ the PCM70 v 2.0 is that it has 2 particular algorithm's panning delay and circular delay, that Steve Lukather uses, however; there's not a lot of guys that realize that you can create those with the PCM 80 too.
