Members BEAD
I wasn't sure where to post this exactly, but I feel confident that y'all have the answers I seek. I'm running a Technics SL-D202 (record player) into a garage-sale-found stereo. Radio and CDs play without disruption, but when I run the Technics, the right channel cuts out occasionally, without warning. If I give it a slight bump, the channel will come back in. I purchased this player used. Would taking it apart yield any answers? Should I take it to a repair shop? If this is a pain in the ass, or really expensive, I'll live with bumping it. I paid $80 for this player, and it's worth about that to me. I don't think I could justify spending more than $50 on a repair.I have jiggled and wiggled and fiddled with all of the visable connections from the Technics to the speakers without success. Thank you in advance.
Members agedhorse
Could be something as simple as an intermittent headshell contact. Try removing and re-installing the headshell.
