Members jeffsfrey
I need a small mixer for a small church PA system. It needs to have the following: - two XLR mic inputs (definitely no more than 4)- two 1/4" inputs (4 max)- RCA inputs- RCA outputs- mono is fine, but stereo might be good- the smaller the better (limited space)- the simpler the better (easy for others to figure out if I'm gone)- no faders (cheap sliders suck, so I just want a turn-pot) Currently we are using a Mackie 1202 VLZ which is great, but it is only on loan and is more than we want to spend. Budget is $100 max. I was thinking of getting a used Behringer 802 but I had one of those once and I didn't like it. Anyone tried the Samson Mixpads? CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted November 4, 2003 CMS Author Share Posted November 4, 2003 Behringer MX602A $60, has everything you spec'd. For 100 bucks you aren't going to get any better or worse, the Samson and Phonic and Alesis are all just as disposable.

Members flanc
The Behringer units are fine, but this is a step-up (for not much money) in my opinion. http://www.northernsound.net/Sales/mixers/soundcraft/spirit/folio.html
Members jeffsfrey
Thanks for the suggestions everyone... like I said, I'm hesitant to try another Behringer because of the bad experience I had with and 802. If Samson and Alesis are no better, then I'll look elsewhere... that Soundcraft Spirit mixer looks perfect though. Wonder if I can get a deal on a used one. Oh, has anyone seen that Mackie mixer that goes for about $150 on eBay? Think is the DX6 or something like that...
Members flanc
That's the DFX mixer. Not a very good unit. I'd use the Behringer first. The VLZ stuff from Mackie is fine but the DFX/DFX stuff has been reviewed terribly here and in other forums. You can get those Spirit Notebooks on ebay as well. CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted November 5, 2003 CMS Author Share Posted November 5, 2003 If you're willing to break the budget you can get a Peavey RQ200 for $190. Much more reliable than the Behringer, etc. Runs on AC or battery. Has a rack mount kit available for about $18.
