Members flanc
Something happened over the course of our last few gigs. Our fog machine makes loud, intermittent Pops/cracks in both our monitors and FOH when it is used. It's generally worse in the beginning of the night. I asked our bass player (who handles most of the lighting/effects) and he said it was on a seperate circuit from the PA. Any thoughts? Members Scodiddly
Separate circuit, outlet, power strip? Does it happen when the thing is triggered, or just randomly? I'd look for a couple of things... audio cables or equipment close to the unit, perhaps a deteriorating shield on some bit of audio stuff gradually letting in the noise. And if it's possibly being carried on the AC circuits, try plugging the fogger into a surge suppressor or filter strip.
Members agedhorse
Sounds like the spark killer capacitor across either the thermostatic switch or the enable smoke switch has opened up. If it occurs only when you call for smoke then it the enable switch, otherwise if it seems random it's probably the stat switch.
