Members RickJ
Anyone used one of these consoles? The list price on a 56-channel model is $7,000. What's the catch? Crest is one of the most respected names in the biz. Did they dumb it down? TIA.
Members Mick LoMauro
Nope Its not dumbed down.It built to meet a price point. Crest built the channel circuit boards in groups of 8 in the horizontal plane. (serviceable for the top)The master section is on vertical cards. With advances in the quality of SMT parts Crest could make a high quality board pretty inexpensively. Agedhorse reviewed it here in the forum.Do a search on 'Crest HP-8 Review'
Members ATOMICDOG1
Mine finally got shipped! I have the 32 channel version, as soon as I can give it a good testing and workout, I'll add to AH's review too.
Members agedhorse
To sum it up, it's an "X-8 lite". I would be cautious about using it for heavy duty pro touring, but it's an ideal church or regional console provided it stays rider-friendly. I haven't seen anything rider-wise either way. Members RickJ
Thanks! I didn't realize that Agedhorse did a review, Mick, or I wouldn't have started this thread. I'm looking at it for a permanent install in a club.
