Members kayak
Can anyone recommend an XLR, 1-1 isolation transformer suitable for any signal level from mic level up to +4db? The primary purpose would be for protection from phantom power.
Members agedhorse
Generally, a line level transformer is not used for mic applications (though it will work ok, there may be a little more coloration and noise for very critical applications) due to the different parameters that are required to make a line level transformer satisfactory... larger core, larger and more wire, generally unshielded, more capacitance, more expensive, etc. We stock several styles, both line level and mic level in 1:1 ratio. We also have some custom application units with special packaging. e-mail me and I will get you descriptions and cost. agedhorse@aol.com
