Vintage audio values?

A very good elder friend has some old McIntosh tube stuff he purchased new and wants to get rid of it now.

Knowing I dealt with sound gear he ask, and I volunteered, to help him find a home for these pieces at a fair price.

 

Anyone know what a mint condition A116 amp and a C108 Pre-amp might be worth?

I used to service McIntosh gear when I was going to school ay back when and if I recall correctly the A116 was a very early piece that used some odd output tubes w/ Anode caps. They may be worth some pretty fair money to the right buyer...

 

 

A116 (A116A) Tube. Mono.


ELECTRICAL: 30w. Response 20-30kHz (+0.1 -0.1dB). Distortion 0.5%. Noise & hum -85dB. Output impedance 4, 8, 16, and 600 ohms. 600 ohm balanced to ground. 4, 8 and 16 ohms isolated from ground. Damping factor 12 for 4, 8 and 16 ohms. Input impedance 500k. Input sensitivity 0.5V.


MECHANICAL: Gray hammertone chassis. Octal socket powers McIntosh C-8, C-4, C104, or C-108 preamps. Connector strip for 4, 8 and 16 ohms as well as 0.5V input. Audio input.


TUBES: 2-6BG6 output, 12AX7, 12AU7,-12BH7, 5U4GA.


Size 8-1/4"H, 8"W and 12"D. Weight 33 lb. Sold from 1953-1954. Last retail price $143.50
