Members summit111
My Brothers, As requested by 6Imzadi, I wanted to review the direct box we bought from Audiopile. We use it to connect two keyboards to our mixing board, going from 1/4" high impedence to XLR low impedence. It is an EWI FBD-202, two channel passive direct box. The unit has a metal case, ground lifts for both channels, and is pretty heavy for it's small size. The connections were straight forward and QUIET, and we didn't notice any significant loss in signal. All in all, it's an inexpensive solution for out keyboard connections. Quick shipping, also. Members agedhorse
Just a quick tech-note... Often, using a single 2 channel direct box to connect 2 different keyboards CAN introduce noise by adding a different ground loop path between the 2 keyboards, but breaking the path between the mixer and keys. It depends on how the DI is designed, but I have seen 2 channel devices with a common ground for the 1/4" inputs. This is just a warning, because 2 channel boxes CAN be designed to avoid this as well.
