Members bpowell451
Well, I have narrowed down my search for FOH boxes for our theater to the JBL Venue Performance and the EAW NT. I would love some general opinions on each from you guys. The price difference between the two is nominal, so it's really about the sound, rider friendlyness, public perception etc. This is a multi-use theater: rock, corporate and small plays. Members cobrasound.com
Just to confuse the issue even more... Have you looked at:FBT PSR active series?RCF TT+ active series?KV2 Audio EX series? What are the rooms dimensions? What type(s) of music? How many of each cabinet are you looking at?What does the rest of the rig consist of? Members TimmyP
Then there's: http://www.a-lineacoustics.com/emma.html http://www.slsloudspeakers.com/content/view/45/107/ The trouble I've had with traditional speakers so far - and this includes the U15 - is that the vertical polars are very poor. When the boxes are up sufficiently high that they properly hit the ears in the back of the theater (about 6.5' above the deck) and don't kill the ears at the front of the theater (about 1.5' below the deck), the ears in front get fine lows and highs, but there's a big hole in the midrange. (Regrettably, I was unable to try any of those speakers upside down. My experience with speakers in the hi-fi world indicates that this would solve the problem.)
