Powered Sub ? (might be stupid)

Those of you with VSX26's and Driveracks...

Are you processing your powered subs with these?

Currently using AuxFed subs from the Mixwiz3 directly to the ES700P. Does the Yorkie powered subs have a HP filter? or am I sending a bunch of low end that the ES700 can't handle therefore I should use the X-over function on my VSX to help it?

Since we run mono the B side of my VSX is available for just sub processing.

BTW - Crossing over a 90Hz between SRX715's and ES700P.

You need to read and understand the owner's manual on this one....there's a bunch of stuff going on with this speaker that is not exactly "typical" of all subs.

There is no HPF in this box, and the limiter does not alter the frequency response as it engages. So it would be a good idea to use a HPF set slightly above the rated response of the box...perhaps 50Hz, with a relatively steep slope of 24dB.

IMO if you've got a processor, learn it well, and use it to handle all functions of processing, and set up the speaker to work only as an amplifier....set the speaker's "High Frequency Cut Off" control to the max 160Hz so it doesn't affect the crossover frequency.
