Members UMT
I infrequently have to run a 1/4" Hi impedance plug into my low impedence snake. I've always just used a Hi/Low plug in adapter. Am I better off using a DI box? What is the big difference? Also, I may have had a issue with this at last weekends gig. What kind of problems does a impedence mismatch create and typically, what do they sound like? Thanks in Advance!

Members dboomer
I'm assuming you mean an unbalanced 1/4" hi-Z?! Without the DI you the highs roll off more quickly, you probably lose signal strength and you don't have any noise cancellation benefits. Do you NEED one? Not always, but it's almost always the better way to do it.
