Members MainEventSound
Channel 2 of my Klark used for monitors, is way lower in volume compared to channel 1, but ONLY when our power is coming from a 20kw generator. The other 2 Klarks work fine. When we have an indoor gig, w/ power from the wall, no problem at all. All of the rest of the PA is fine on wall or generator power. What the heck?? Thanks in advance for replies.
Members witesol
funny, I just had a simlar problem on a generator gig last Thursday. Along with the KT EQ, the MG24/14 didn't work right either. I ran a 100' cord for those things and all went fine.
Members ShizzelDizzel
I'll piss in the wind a say your one unit is a little more sensitive to the dirtier power supplied by the generator than the other units.
Members agedhorse
Maybe the problem is with another piece, be sure you are troubleshooting to the correct conclusion.

Members MainEventSound
We tried everything also, the board aux out, the snake lines, the cables from the snake to the rack, the amp, the wedges themselves, it all come back to the channel 2 Klark. On the last gig w/ generator, we kept everything the same, just switched to channel 1, no problem anymore, but then back to 2, and back to problems. Members agedhorse
You sure it's generator dependant? Hook it up to the shop variac and run the voltage down to simulate the genny low voltage.
Members MainEventSound
there was a voltage regulator knob on the generator and we set it (w/ a fluke) to 119 volts, so the genny didn't have low voltage at all.
Members agedhorse
Then it probably wasn't generator a oriented failure, possibly an intermittent connection? Did you cycle the bypass switch?
