Members clayface74
My 2404 has developed the same problem in 2 channels. 2& 17. They both show signal but the volume going out has to be cranked (Gain and fader) to be audible. Anyone else experienced this and if so what is the problem and solution? Thanks in advance
Members alteredsound
Have you tried exercising the insert jacks to make sure they aren't causing an (nearly) open circuit? If that doesn't do it, it could be that the insert jacks are bad or it could be broken solder joints somewhere.
Members agedhorse
YOu are experiencing exactly why these consoles are becoming so cheap. Is it an original (with wood sides and black metalwork) or the series 2 with no wood sides and gray metalwork? Yes, I would suggest that you wiggle the pad and phase switch on the channel and see if that takes care of it... do it with the master volumes down to avoid an expensive accident. I used to do ccomplete rebuilds on those consoles but it's no longer worth it. I do still have some parts for the series 1's though. They are easy to work on if you have a lot of experience but a bitch if you don't. I may still have the service manuals.
