Members ConcreteVamphyr
K, I had posted before on my desire to run/control my delay from stage. (Vocals) I am running my (New yay!) Wireless mic, out to the house, and out to my in ear monitors. Question being, if I go into a balanced XLR, in and out of unbalanced (1/4 inch Midiverb) but then out to the house again from a balanced out, is that going to degrade the signal? basically balanced to unbalanced to balanced? I will take the previous advice and not screw with any Reverb or ambience, that would not be controllable from stage, but delay I think shouldn't be a problem, I'll leave the rest to the house.... CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted February 5, 2009 CMS Author Share Posted February 5, 2009 You'll lose some signal going from balanced to unbalanced. You don't get it back by going back to balanced...it has to work with what is there. So you start at -10dB, go unbalanced, you're at -13dB. The noise floor is still at the same level, so your s/n ratio has dropped 3dB.
