Members monkeyland
if it were my band i would do everything that i could to make sure that the harmonica amp doesn't get run straight into the board. just like with an electric guitar the speaker is just as much a part of the sound as anything else. it will start to sound really bad otherwise. then again maybe you will like it. either way it's not a big deal to mic it and really the amp is part of the instrument just like with guitar. otherwise just give him a vocal mic and tell him to blow. that approach has it's place also. as for the other instruments they absolutely should use a DI although it won't really hurt to run it without for a little while. you'll most likely just have an impedance mismatch which could lead to a bit of scratchy sound but it won't damage the board in any way. also the stomp box won't damage your board either although i would be careful with the low frequencies. think of it like a bass drum, you don't want to do damage to your speakers.
